Lysos is located about 36 kilometres north-east from Pafos. It is the largest village in the Paphos district. The village of Lysos is above the humidity line and can offer you enjoyable summer days with the view of the blue Mediterranean sea. The village's highest point is "Tripylos" (1,362 meters), located in the most eastern section of the village - Stavros Tis Psokas.

There are astonishing nature trails in this area, visitors can observe unique plants, birds, and reptiles. A forest station has its headquarters in "Stavros tis Psokas" and there is also an amazing camping site. A similar site also exists in Agios Merkourios, not less significant in natural beauty.

In Lysos the visitor can admire the unique natural environment at the "Stavros tis Psokas" venue, the village's Byzantine Church that has an ancient Byzantine fresco in the Sanctuary's (Bema) niche, the frescoes in the small church of St. George, and many other sights.

The beachfront town of Polis Chrysochous is 15 minutes drive away, where you can find shops, supermarkets and local restaurants. Akamas National park is closed to the village where you can enjoy the magnificent unspoiled nature of the area.

The main church of the Lyssos village, which is dedicated to "Panagia Chryseleousa". The church was built in Byzantine-Gothic style in the 15 century.

In the region of Lyssos, there is one lair and four hideouts used by guerillas in 1958. The lair is found easterly of the mountain "Proferti'", around 100 meters lower from the top. Most of the hideouts are located close to the church of Agioi Pantes and one of them in the area of Kathikas.
